Your Love In Everything

Accepting life will expire for someone loved never completely comes even after they’re gone. Sometimes I forget for a moment and expect to run into you just around the corner. You’re still with me but I miss your voice, your touch, the way you looked at me and lots more. C.S.

I’ll catch your smile on someone’s face,
Your whisper in the wind’s embrace
Through diamond stars and songs and dreams
I find your love in everything

The sun, the sky, the rolling sea
All conspire to comfort me.
From sorrow’s edge life’s beauty seems
To find your love in everything.

I’ve come to trust the hope it brings
To find your love in everything.
Even as I fall apart,
Even through my shattered heart,
I’ll catch your smile on someone’s face
…..amazing grace.

Silence Breaks the Heart

You don’t answer your phone when I call and ignore my texts. When I run into you by chance you look away and won’t speak to me. I know what I did was wrong, but there’s a lot you don’t know. Please talk to me and listen to what I have to say. I love you and I’m sorry. A.N.

Sticks and stones are hard on bones
Aimed with angry art,
Words can sting like anything
But silence breaks the heart.
Phyllis McGinley

There You Are

After a year I thought my heart had healed and I was over you. I go to a party thrown by some new people I’d met then a half hour later turn around and there you are. Just the two of us standing there talking was like when we first met. I fell in love with you all over again. D.H.

So I placed my heart under lock and key
To take some time, and take care of me
But I turn around and you’re standing here.

A Pretty Girl

Whenever we entered a room you did your best to make sure every man looked at you. I should have known how you dressed and acted meant you’d never be faithful to me. Love is blind and sometimes we love what is bad for us even when we know it.  E.A.

A pretty girl
is nothing
if she has
an ugly heart.

Living Without You

The passing of time has helped close the gash you left on my heart, but the wound will never fully heal. At first I prayed to die but now I plead for amnesia so I can forget & let go of  what will never be again. Forever turned out to be a life of heartache of living without you. T.A.

Better never to have
known love at all,
than to live a life
of pathetic recall.
From “Love’s Last Word” by Joyce Hemsley

A Yearning Comes Over Me

Some days I’m fine and on others just OK. Then there are days when I’m reminded of you like seeing a couple in love, a song, a movie, a place, or something someone says.  Then a yearning comes over me and I’m reminded how deeply I am still in love with you. C.B.

 Sometimes,
when one person is missing,
the whole world seems depopulated.

A Heart Around Your Name

No longer do I know where you are. Your phone number changed. You’ve moved far away with no forwarding address. No one I ask is aware of where you ended up. I date others and go out with friends, but my heart is still yours. Wherever you are, I love you, always. S.S.

I think of you in Silence.
I often speak your name.
All I have left are memories
and a heart around your name.
My heart aches with sadness
and all my tears flow.
What it meant to lose you
no-one will ever know.

One Night Together

I’m asking for one night together. Just you and me; alone. And if you can honestly say you don’t feel anything for me after that night, I’ll leave. Please! Let’s put the past and our pride away for 8 hours and make sure we’re not about to throw something beautiful away. J.C.

If you have it [love],
you don’t need to have anything else,
and if you don’t have it,
it doesn’t matter much what else you have.
Sir James M. Barrie

A Little More Each Day

Hurt flows from inside out. I feel pain radiating from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I never knew love could ache so horribly until you said “I don’t love you anymore”. I’ve tried everything but nothing relieves my suffering. I die a little more each day! R.B.

What can I do,
lost as I am in the wind
and lightning that surrounds you.
What can I do,
now that my tears
are rising toward the sky
only to fall back
into the sea again.
What can I do,
now that this page is wet;
now that this pen is empty.
From “Borrowed Love Poems” by John Lou

We Just Couldn’t Leave

I was so sure I could. You felt the same way. We love each other but when the night came to run away together, we couldn’t do it. Both of us started out to meet up at the station, but each turned around and went home before getting there. We just couldn’t leave our children. K.W.

I guess that’s just part of loving people:
You have to give things up.
Sometimes you even have to give them up.
